KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT)- Knox County Schools are keeping up with the times and giving students Macbook Pros.
Wednesday, Holston Middle School students and parents were being trained to use them.
Students will bring them to class, then take them home at night for homework.
Knox County schools interested in the computers wrote up proposals , 11 were chosen.
Ashley Jessie, Principal at Holston Middle School says they're excited to start using them, "we're going to use it as a learning tool, in the classroom. It's going to be a way for them to show their creativity in everything they do. So, it's just another tool in the toolbox."
Some assignments will also be collected electronically. Teachers will work out extra time in class for students who may not be able to access the internet at home.
