LOCAL 8 WEATHER CENTER -- We all know weather affects what we plan to do, what we end up doing, and how we dress for it. And, when it's really going to impact your routine, we declare a Local 8 Weather Alert Day. So, what does that mean?

First of all, it's a commitment to be there when the forecast shows potentially dangerous conditions, from the first forecast until the threat passes.

A Local 8 Weather Alert Day can affect us year round. We're talking about dense fog limiting your visibility in the morning hours, or very high winds making it hard to drive and knocking down tree limbs creating hazardous situations.

It can be heavy rain, hail, flash flooding, and, as we move into the Winter months, sleet, snow and ice; Everything that can be disruptive or inconvenient to you and your family.

So, when we issue a Weather Alert Day, know the entire Local 8 weather team is here for you, with team coverage to keep you safe on TV and on local8now.com.
